MENTAL ESSENCE

"Trent!  We are approaching a planet you will find interesting," OM stated.
Trent opened his eyes, asking, "What's it like?"
"It's significant only in that the inhabitance have the precursors of the Ree gene, they have only rudimentary space travel having only been to a few planets within their own system, and their politics very from democracies to military rule, and they speak a good universal," OM replied.
"You have my attention," Trent exclaimed, adding, "I'll wake Pace."
For the first time, Pace wabbled to the scanners instead of the pantry after coming out of the jelling.
Trent gave her a short debrief.
"So, what's this planet called?" asked Pace.
    "Olus," answered OM.
    "Conflicts?" Trent asked.
"Several.  None of them nuclear, and they have not developed laser or particle beam weapons," replied OM.
"Which is the most democratic nation?" Pace asked.
"I do not have sufficient data to make that determination.  They do audio visual transmissions however.  Perhaps by analyzing them, we can gain some insight," OM suggested.
With that, OM opened five displays.
Pace immediately fixated on the food commercials, then beelined to the pantry.
"Well.  OM, locate a gold exchange.  We'll need local currency," Trent asked.
    "This is interesting," Pace stated.
    "What's that?" asked Trent.
"Here's a company hocking a personal protection device.  It forms an energy barrier around the being that protects them from extreme temperatures and insects." Pace said with an inquisitive voice.
"What's so strange about that?" asked Trent.
"They don't have gravitirium.  I don't know how they could do that without it.  OM, how could they do that?" asked Pace.
"Scanning   These are the elements the device is comprised of.  Apparently, they are compressed under very extreme pressure," OM replied.
"I'm impressed," said Trent, glancing at the display.
"The owner is also the wealthiest being on Olus.  His name is Donvon Anion," stated OM.
"How wealthy is he?" Pace asked.
"He has several times more wealth than all the rest of the Olusians put together.  The newspaper articles state that he is extremely generous, and provides many public services free," OM added.
"Whaddya say we make Mr. Anion our first contact," suggested Pace.
"OM, monitor Mr. Anion.  We need to know the best time and place to approach him," Trent asked.
"While you're at it, locate the best dining facilities," Pace requested.
"At present, he is at his residence, referred to as, Blue House," OM answered.
"Can we approach him there in the usual stealthy manner?" asked Trent.
"He is with two beings at a dining table," OM replied.
"We could catch diner at some restaurant somewhere in the meantime," Pace suggested.
They sold some gold, and went to a restaurant named Fetta's.
"Should have sold more gold.  These prices are astonishing," said Pace.
"Perhaps the quality is worth the price," Trent stated.
"Perhaps," Pace replied as she gazed around at the other patron's selections.
Pace ordered two separate dinners, and suggested they return, often.
"No problems with the language," Trent thought.
"I like the electric transports.  Those others smell bad, and they're noisy," Pace thought back.
They bought two communication devices, and call Mr. Anion when OM said he was alone, stating a person matter.  Mr. Anion agreed to meet them, mostly because he wanted to find out how they got his number.
When they arrived at Blue House, a man opened the door to the transport they hired.
"You must be Mr. Trent and Miss. Page.  Please follow me," the man said, pointing to the left with a wave jester of his hand.
"Thank you, but it's just Trent and Pace," Pace said.
"As you wish," replied the man.
They boarded a small electric transport, and went to the main house where they meet Mr. Anion.  They shook hands, and sat at a blue colored stone table.
"I see why they call your house the Blue House," stated Pace, looking around all he blue colored objects.
"I do like the color blue, now, what can I do for you?" Mr. Anion asked.
"You are going to find this hard to believe, but, we are from another planet called Loma Dena," stated Page.
Mr. Anion looked at them breaking into a big smile.
"So, your space aliens.  Wonderful.  I knew you were out there.  In fact, I have several bets on it.  What is it I can do for you, and I have a billion questions, and please call me Von," Mr. Anion said while moving spontaneously in all direction.
Pace gave Mr. Anion a rundown on events leading to the present, and offered him a ride in Ship.
"That'd a space ship?  What do you do for a roof, and no instruments," Von questioned.
"Ship has his own energy shielding, so there is no need for a roof, and control is through mind link," stated Trent.
"Ship has HER own conciseness," Pace injected.
"If you don't mind me asking, are you two married?" asked Von.
"We have a bond," Trent replied with a voice toned in a way as to end the query.
"Where would you like to go?" Pace asked.
"Lipta.  We an explorer there.  I think it would be great to stand Infront of the camera and wave," said Von.
"Not just yet.  Anonymity is a good practice for the moment," Pace stated.
We will have to take it slow for a bit until you adjust to the momentum.  They first landed on a planet called Ushor.  Trent expanded Ships shield far enough for Von to walk on surface and collect a sample of the surface.
When they returned to Olus, they walked to a veranda overlooking forest and lake.
Trent asked him about his person protection device.
"It produces an energy shied like the one around Ship," Von replied.
Pace explained the differences, and that in all their travels, they had never found anyone who had attained such an achievement.
"That makes me feel rather special.  However, it seems the Ree have accomplished much more," Von stated.
"Yeah, but we've been around a lot longer," Pace replied.
"Where do we go from here?" Von asked.
