MENTAL ESSENCE

    "Sounds about right," said Rye.
"She's looking at a link comm on Mawa that is supposed to be the best available," said Hiret.
"They're always the best," Rye said.
"Well, it's portable, and has the best optics integration," said Hiret.
"He may be using it to interact with us for a long time.  It may take a very long time to gear up enough to even come close to being able to make a functional cell of gravitirium.  There's a reason we've haven't done it before this," said Rye.
"My personal expertise is optics.  That's why I sent Cree to get that particular link comm I mentioned," said Hiret.
"Have you given any thought as to how to actually build an eye from cells made of gravitirium?" asked Rye.
"Nope.  The smallest gravimetric object I've worked with was about the size of my fingernail," said Hiret.
"There will be discussions on the best way to proceed for quite a while.  Let's see if Trent can work through this new link com," Rye said.
Hiret and Rye gave Trent an update and with Mrs. Dennen and MB a little more tutoring on how to understand why different species react differently from each other in regards to the same stimulus.  Like different social structures, reliance on different nutrients.  More importantly however, the similarities between species, like why the more accomplished species develop similar wards and sentence structure.  Plus, why biological structures and functions are universal, and personalities are not.
A w,eek later Dira Cree arrived with the link com.
"Trent, this is Dira Cree," said Hiret.
"I am glad to meet you Dira Cree," Trent said.
" I am glad to meet you Trent, and please call me Cree," Cree said.
"Ok.  Please call me Trent," Trent said.
"This is the newest link comm.  I'm turning it on, now.  Can you find your way to it?" Cree said.
"I cannot move around at will.  I am radiating in all directions and being conducted as you would think of electricity being conducted.  Communicating through this device is best thought of as picking me up as a radio station.  Conversing at two different locations at the same time is difficult," Trent said.
"Can you see through the optic system?" asked Cree.
"Yes.  I can sense the optic stimulus in the same fashion as the audio stimulus.  Little by little I am learning the difference between the two, and how to correctly respond verbally.  You must keep in mind that I have no feeling, or emotional sensation.  Every moment of interaction brings me closer to complete understanding of why things are the way they are, which is probably as close as I will ever get to having emotional capability," said Trent.
"Do you need to sleep?" Cree asked.
"No.  However, energy levels have some effect, but I am not sure how to interpret it.  The energy level we are at right now is optimal for my ability to interact with the link," Trent said.
"What would you like to do now?" asked Cree.
"I would like to be on a sea shore.  After that I would like to visit all of the different environments, and cultures," Trent said.
    "Any particular sea shore?"
asked Cree.
"No, not really.  There is a great many.  Some are liquid and frozen water oriented, some are liquid and solid methane and other gases oriented, and even around seas of molten rock," replied Trent.
"I'm limited to the shores around liquid water.  Preferably nice and worm liquid water.  Why a sea shore?" Cree asked.
"I am not sure.  Perhaps the rhythm of the waves.  Maybe it is the shapes, or colors.  If you would prefer another environment, it is ok with me.  What type of environment do you like?" Trent asked.
" Sea shores are just fine by me.  In fact, I know just the place," said Cree.
